Section 2: Health and Safety Guidelines

Using an infrared sauna will cause you to sweat, and you may feel lightheaded when you stand up. If this happens, make sure you get up slowly and sit down once you leave the sauna. Drink water immediately after finishing your session and wait for your body to cool down. If you feel faint, dizzy or unwell in any way, discontinue sauna use and seek medical advice from a licensed medical professional.

Staying in too long can risk overheating and dehydration. If you feel dizzy, uncomfortable, or unbearably hot, please stand up slowly, exit the sauna immediately but carefully, and notify a staff member.

Health & Safety Considerations

  • If you feel ill or have a fever, wait to use the sauna until you’re feeling better.
  • Be mindful and always enter and exit the sauna slowly and carefully to avoid slipping or falling.
  • Never fall asleep while using the sauna.
  • Discontinue sauna use during an electrical storm to avoid any risk of shock.
  • Do not place objects inside or on the roof of the sauna.

Hydration and Food:

You can also bring water into the sauna, especially if you’re sensitive to higher heats. Avoid using an infrared sauna if you’ve been drinking alcohol - this can lead to dehydration more quickly.
